Experiences about corneal transplantation

I'm not a doctor, but I would try supplementing iodine for a few months before getting surgery. I take 2 drops of Lugol's 2% in a glass of water daily and it has greatly improved my eyes. Most americans, especially if they live far from the coast and avoid seafood, are iodine deficient, and the body needs iodine to maintain healthy eyes and everything else.

The amount of iodine above brings you to the amount ingested in the Japanese diet. the Japanese have much lower rates of heart problems, cancer etc.

I personally had a big improvement in my eye health, so I add that to the list. I was near-sighted my whole life until I started taking the iodine. Also after 40 needed bifocals as the eye lens got rigid and would not adapt to near/far.

Now the lens moves again, and my glasses mostly sit on a table somewhere. Went from 20/500 vision to almost not needing glasses. Also used to need reading glasses and couldn't thread a needle without a magnifier. All better.

Again, I am not a doctor, just saying what helped me.
