Will be riding a bicycle towing a two wheeled trailer behind.
3 dogs will accompany me.
The biggest dog, he's just over 10 years old and wont be able to trot the whole distance, and will have to travel in the bike trailer, so that's 45 kilos in the trailer.
As the crow flies we will be going about 45 km, but it will be longer by road, and may be some steepish hills that will entail getting off the bike and pushing it uphill.
I have a 10 litre water container that will go in the bike trailer with the big dog, as water will be important, even though it will be winter. (About 16 C in the day and about 10 C at night, so not really cold).
But you can see by this that I will already have 55 kg in the bike trailer, and those are necessities, ie the big old dog and the water.
So the rest must be kept to a minimum.
It must be a minimalist trip.
And I intend to get pannier bags for the bike, so that would give me more storage.
Shelter: I have a 3 person tent.
Bedding: Nothing yet, but will get a sleeping bag for me, and I was thinking a couple of ex-army wool blankets for the dogs.
Clothing: 2 x pairs of BDU cargo pants.
I x pair of army boots.
I pair of thongs (shower shoes)
Socks
Khaki cotton T-Shirts x 2.
My goretex camo (ex French army surplus) rain coat in case it rains.
Warm jacket.
Boonie hat.
Gloves. (may be able to leave out.)
So I think that takes care of clothing.
Personal gear: On my back I will have a day pack with 3 litres of water, emergency rations, handheld GPS, knife, bic lighter, binocolors.
On a webbing belt I will have my powerful flashlight and a big knife.
Food: Dried dog biscuits for the dogs.
The rest will need to be light, depends how it looks loaded up how much extra I think I will be able to carry.
I will be able to resource on the way, but not every day, but I don't need to carry a weeks supply.
Cooking: I don't know if I will have enough room for a stove of some sort, but it would be nice to have a hot cup of coffee or tea and a hot meal in winter.
Although finding twigs and sticks for a little fire wouldn't be hard.
Which raises the question of cooking equipment.
Weight and space will be at a minimum, so household frying pan and pots will be out of the question, so maybe some lightweight aluminium mess pan would do.
Anything else you think I might need?
I don't know how much space I will have till I get the bike panniers, but things like the tent and sleeping bag and blankets can be tied to the outside of the bike trailer I think.
What to take cycle touring/camping?
