Bugging out to Nevada

I've had it with CA even if I am only seasonal. 14 years in CA and I refused to become a resident. Thankfully, I had the right to domicile as active duty. But I am done with this godforsaken state,

So I am looking for desert places fairly close to the upper mojave so I can be within striking distance to go back to my place in CA, keeping it for a few years as a meeting place for the family. It will take that long to clean it out and fix it up to sell, lol.

I like the idea of Mina or Goldfield so I can pretty much bop around on BLM land camping and prospecting.

Armagosa Valley seems nice since it is only 1hr 15mins out of Vegas, but not Cook County.

Or there is always Beatty, the closest NV town to me.

I am planning to stay at an RV park for a few months until I can get my residency requirements fulfilled, then it's Nomad Prospector status for me. Eventually once I sell my place in CA, I'll have the money to buy something in NV. By then I'll have a better idea where I want to live.
