I would like some opinions from folks that use or would use military surplus as camping equipment. I am not sure that I am in the correct section, I am new.
I would like to get some opinions, suggestions, ideas. I buy and sell surplus, mainly load bearings type stuff. One thing that happens as many of you know when you buy from the government you sometimes have to buy a bunch to get a few. So I have a bunch of stuff and looking for ideas for how to use it.
The idea I am working on now is related to the Hellcat pack. If I am correct it is an ALICE frame pack and newer MOLLE add one.
One thing I have noticed is that the marines when they turn in pack equipment is separated when turned in. I ended up with a lot of marine packs with out frames belts or shoulder harness. I was looking at the pack and saw that the ALICE frame fits just right in place of the modern one. So I put a Frankenpack together.
ALICE Frame, PACK, MAIN, MC, MOLLE Shoulder straps, molle waist belt. Appears to be the equivalent of an ALICE large, but the marine pack has tons of MOLLE attachment point a tone ot sustainment pouch or other molle type pouches can be attached. Gonna try to post or host pics of it.
