I bought the budget model, non-take down, black synthetic stock, and an off-brand bipod for $250 + taxes.
I replaced the bipod that came with it with a lesser brand knock-off of a Harris bipod, added a flash suppressor for an AR for cool looks and to protect the muzzle. I also had a 4X32 Simmons scope i had on a Ruger 22/45 with 6 7/8" BBL that i mounted on the charger with Weaver Rings using the Picatinny rail scope base Ruger mounts on it at the factory.
A friend and i went up into the mountains shooting & sighting in our guns. The little Charger was able to group 3/4 inch at 30 yards with CCI Mini Mag Hollow Points, bipod and sandbag! Not one jam or failures to eject or feed! This little baby is a definite keeper!
I bought it for small game hunting as a lighter option to carrying a full sized rifle as i have health issues that require lighter loads to carry. I have handgun hunted squirrel before very successfully with the aforementioned 22/45 and i know this little gem is gonna work great!
Anybody else out there hunting with or have a Charger as your "Get Home Gun"? I feel this works because its smaller and easier to hide but the 10" barrel and 4X scope let me reach out farther than just a pistol. I also got kinda bored with rifle hunting small game as my long guns are easier to hit with, the pistol aspect adds alot more challenge!
New Ruger Charger!
