Emerson CQC-7 fails

DefaultEmerson CQC-7 fails

After so much hype, I was excited at the opportunity to finally own one of the much heralded Emersons.
BUT like so many things, it seems it simply doesn't live up to it's reputation.
So so ergonomics, blade ground on the wrong side, not very smooth opening, etc.
There's NO way a production knife should have this price tag. My old CRKT Lightfoot with teflon bearings opens SOO much smoother at a fraction of the price & my ancient Buck 112 cuts much better.
Without torture testing it, is it THAT much more durable?
Is that it's only redeeming feature?
Would those with more experience with this knife, especially in survival/combat situation help me understand if it's reputation is overblown or not??
Thanks . .
