Torch had just past when the thug smashes the guy's car window in and puts a gun to his face.
The driver pulls him into his car, disarms him and shoots him.

It was motorcycle hit, common to Brazil, in which the guy riding on back does the robbery. The motorcyclist peeled away.

Now, here's the thing, as usual the MSM has skewed this; it wasn't a Russian diplomat. It looks to have been a native Brazilian working for the Russian embassy.
