The average voter simply does not care outside of an election year.
The average voter knows more about an NFL team and quarterback than a party/candidate's political platform.
They do not care about anyone except "Their Party"
They do not care to be informed, even of the person they are supporting.
Simply put, the information is out there, it is the individual who, overall, does not care. They might 'talk the talk' but in the end they will vote "Party Line" while all the time justifying/rationalizing their position in some way.
Fear and apathy rule our electorate.
