kudos Whole foods

Retailers customer service is so poor these days that I felt exemplary treatment should be praised.

I had a medical procedure Monday in "the big city" and then stayed to have dinner with friends.

I went to Whole Foods (overpriced Yuppie-Mart that they are) and bought a Berry Chantilly cake (obscenely priced, but SO GOOD it's worth doing a couple times a year. An Ex GF turned me onto them.)

Well I took it to my friends (who had never had it, and while it was good I was very disapointed. Typically the berries make LAYERS you can see once you cut into it.
So thick you can't close the box.
This had a light dusting of fruit.
still a good cake, but the contrasting flavors make it worth the (high) price.

We ate a good chunk of it, and on my way home I stopped by the store, not looking for a refund, but wanting my next cake to be right.

I didn't even bring it in, just pictures.

Right away the supervisor spotted (and volunteered) the problem, and above my protests that $5 would be fine gave me the entire $33 back, and when I refused "a goodie from the bakery" saying I had part of the cake in my cooler in the car she pressed a $10 gift card on me and assured me my next cake would be "done right"

There's literally no better way they could of handled this, and (more importantly to me) their attitude was perfect.

They will have my continued (very limited) business and I wanted to give them a good marketing plug.

They ARE expensive, but they treat you the way a store SHOULD treat it's customers. (Which is sadly rare today.)

Let's block ads! (Why?)
