Feuerhand or Kirkman lanterns?

Looking for alternative light source in lanterns. Having also questions that haven't really been answered thru searching the Web and also thru comments of purchases.
I have an coleman lantern that uses propane, but what happens when I run out of the canisters? Which brand of lanterns do use...
Feuerhand or Kirkman lanterns?
1.Do they both use kerosene & oil ?
2. I have read that if you use oil the wiks clogs. Is this true? Or am I being mislead.
I live in the United States if this helps.
Any advice or comments would be helpful.
Looking to purchase a feuerhand deluxe #276 or Kirkman #2 champion lantern with hooded reflector.
Want to use oil, but will use K1 or kerosene if need be....want quality.
