Been assimilated, resistance was futile.

I have gave in and purchased a smart phone to replace my simple flip phone of many years. It is a ZTE Majesty pro that cost me $29.99 from Tracfone that uses Android Marshmallow as a operating system. I got it this last Thursday, and after reading up on it, I finally got it turned on Friday and by Saturday was able to make calls and send my first text (the horrors!). Why I decided to advanced to using a smart phone was I can see the writing on the wall when it comes to trying to get things done just having a old fashioned phone. Just about everyone now assumes that you have such a device and know how to use it.

It is quite a steep learning curve for this old dog. Especially getting the internet set up so it is usable and altering characteristics of the phones settings to please my needs. But I will not get any younger, nor smarter, so it was now or never. Thanks to Google searching (on my PC) and the information from others with the same problems or needs I am slowly learning. I do not think the phone browsing will entirely replace my desktop for regular computer usage, but I can see that it may come in handy when the desktop is unavailable.

Amazing how much functionality these little devices have. I can certainly see that they are a big change in the way the world operates. Now if I can just avoid getting so frustrated that I take the phone out and target practice on it it might become understandable.
