A few months back, I posted in the health section about back surgery I was going to have. Well the surgery was about 7 weeks ago now and successful. Couple weeks of pt then 2 weeks part time then back to full time.
We have an hmo thru my wife's work, thank god. The statements have started rolling in. For a 2 hour operation in which the dr. Removed a cyst on my lower spine, replaced a disc and inserted rods and screws on l4 & l5, 2 days and 1 night in the hospital and a little pt in the hospital, the total SO FAR is at $209,000. Per my doctor, this is one of the simplest operations he handles and does it on a weekly basis. I hate to think about what it would be like with a ppo plan, Obama care plan, or if it was a tougher more complicated operation.
