Bic Lighter Flint Failure

I've had a mini bic lighter in a first aid kit in my truck for several years.

It is a waist pack kit kept inside a soft side 6 pack cooler, inside a softside 12 pack cooler to try to keep from heat.

Yesterday I tried to light it and nothing but grey dust came from flint.

Anyone had that happen before?
