California Fires

I feel sorry for all those losing everything in some cases even their lives.

This seems to happen almost constantly in California. I cannot understand why the state has not had a massive movement to remove fuel. It seems they could create massive firebreaks around developments.

It also seems like with planned planting and cultivation of land they could create fire speed bumps of sorts. These areas would not be void of vegetation but certainty give firefighters points of containment.
