Biblical Challenge To Atheists
1. A soft word turns away anger.
I credit this idea to an email that compared such Biblical principles as vastly superior to those contained in How to Win Friends & Influence People. So, the risk I take is to subject this claim to a scientific test - put Biblical principles into practice is beneficial EVEN IF you do not believe in God.
To quote Covey, I see this test as WIN-WIN-WIN.
WIN: If the atheist embraces Biblical principles because he has convinced himself they work, praise be to God.Naturally, most atheists will claim they 'do not have time' to implement such a test. That is a dodge, an intellectual dodge and they will know it, a subset of the 3rd WIN.
WIN: If the atheist tests Biblical principles and determines they don't work, the FACT that he took up the challenge reveals a mustard seed of faith for he must have doubt about the result to put it to the test.
WIN: If we generate this list and an atheist rejects the challenge, it reveals a mustard seed of doubt the atheist since he is unwilling to scientifically test the power of the Word.
(As principles are proposed, I'll add it to a subsequent post.)

Shots fired! I had a weird encounter with police last night.
So I'm up late last night, middle of the night, when I hear gunfire outside, rather close by. Not a typical happening around here, despite the recent increase in crime rates. My windows were open so they were easy to hear and locate the direction they came from. Unmistakably gunshots, not a backfire, fireworks, or anything like that. I look out the window and see lights starting to turn on in some of the other houses in the area so I'm not the only one who heard them.
I decided to go check my back yard and all the doors and windows on the house, thinking that if I was quick about it I could be done and back inside before cops show up to check things out. I didn't want to waste their time having to check out the wrong person if they see me shining a flashlight around my windows, when they could otherwise be spending their time looking for the real suspect(s).
I'm in my pajamas so I grab a bag to have a place to carry my keys (I'm not leaving the door unlocked while I do this) and have a place to put my flashlight if I need my hands free. I also want a place to carry my gun so it's available, but not visible so I don't alarm a neighbor by brandishing right after the sound of gunfire. It's a single strap MOLLE bag and I'm wearing it across my front like a bandoleer (this is relevant later).
Just as I'm finishing checking my yard and house I see a police spotlight shining around on the homes across the street. I wasn't quick enough, and WOW, they responded quickly. So I hang the light from a lanyard on the bag.
At this point the cop car rounds a corner and I become visible to them and they train the light on me. I wave to them as I walk down my driveway to stand right under a street light. My hands are down at my sides, a couple inches away from my body so they can clearly see they're empty. Cops get out of the car, I cheerfully say "evenin' officers" and tell them I heard some gunfire and was just checking out the exterior of my house as I gestured behind me to show where I lived.
Now, while I had no gun visible, I'm a guy in pajamas, barefoot, carrying a MOLLE gear bag across my front. It doesn't take a genius to realize I probably have a gun in there. But they don't mention anything about it, and just ask me for any further details about what I saw or heard.
After finishing that brief exchange I thanked them for checking the area and went back inside my house.
To listen to the press these days, you'd think I'd have been jacked up by the cops, held at gunpoint (or worse), but they didn't draw down on me, didn't cuff me and weren't rude to me. Oddly enough, they didn't even shoot me.
Weird, right?

Does rolling and sliding work in real gun fights?
I know in several ambush type firefights when the first bullets start flying the first thing I did was dive and roll behind something. So that I could return fire and not be in the open and sustain injuries from a lot of bullets flying.

Reloading: Working up a load, how small to measure the powder increments?
My initial 5 shot loadings were 53gr, 54gr, 55gr and 56gr. Best group out of those was at 55gr and roughly MOA.
So, I was planning on loading another round of testers at 54.5gr, 55gr and 55.5gr to see if there is any improvement in accuracy between the full grain differences. Is that the best way to do it? Or should I load in smaller increments like 54.6, 54.8, 55, 55.2, 55.4?
I'm not really sure how much a fraction of a grain of powder will affect velocity and noticeable accuracy. A full grain on either side of 55gr increases the spread 3-4x (attached pics).

Any Indians (from India) on here?
Weird question. I'm not Indian. But I live in an area of town (in the US) where almost everyone is Indian, either with an accent or with very limited English. Most of these people are families with young kids. I already have a hard time getting to know my neighbors, but the language barrier means I know almost nobody here. I kinda know the guys across the hall and they seem cool. But I really have no idea what the culture is like when it comes to being prepared. How are Indians in a disaster? Are they generally going to be more prepared/resilient than regular Americans? Less prepared? I have no idea. I want to know if I should be worried that my neighbors will turn on me because I have food, or if I should be reassured because they'll all be holding their own. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so a major devastating Earthquake that turns us into a Puerto Rico situation is a realistic expectation.

It's made by the TrackMeNot ad blocker makers.
It works with your ad blocker in concert and then clicks all the ads constantly.
Basically it overloads ad functions on a website until their data collection is worthless. Kind of like a DDS attack on ad companies. If the companies can track anything it basically says you buy everything on the web constantly so your ad profile is useless for targeting your preferences.
Google even banned it from their Chrome app store, though the company now offers a workaround.
So if you like the idea of punishing the ad companies then consider this program to pair with your ad blocker.

How do you LABEL soft things (bags, backpacks etc)?
However I can't use sticky label-maker tape on things like backpacks and bags, and that's really a shame. I have a lot of BOB-type backpacks, many of which has addon molle side packs, it would have been so awesome to be able to label, but I don't know how.

Storing long tool handles?
I'm just curious at the moment, tried googling on here with no success.
Tool handles, on axes and shovels are just one of those wear items that eventually craps out usually before the tool head is bad so It's always a good thing to have around.
Typically made of hardwood like hickory but there's a chance it could be laying around decades before it's needed so what would be the way to put a handle up for a "prep?" I am thinking a good oiling then a good layer of cling wrap would work well.

Small electric fence setup for chicken coop?
Hello. I went out to my chicken coop yesterday to collect their eggs and noticed that various parts of my coop had been seriously clawed at. Obviously it had been a black bear that had come through in the night. Thankfully it hadn't broken/torn anything loose. My coop is made up of two levels and I designed it that way on purpose. The lower level has a dirt floor (with a layer of concrete pavers and chicken wire under it to prevent digging) and is secured by regular galvanized chicken wire. The second story is their nesting/sleep area and is made of nothing but 2x6 boards secured to 4x4 posts. It has two vents in the top that I can raise up in the summer months for air circulation. Ok. . .there is a trapdoor in the bottom of the second story that I shut (most of the time) at night so no small varmint can get in, assuming it tears through the chicken wire on the bottom floor. I now religiously shut the trap door every night until bear season is gone. My question is this. . .how would I make a small electric fence that I could use as a perimeter for my coop? All the kits I've seen at tractor supply and other places are for huge areas and are $100+. Is this the best "anti bear" option? I've also thought about getting some heavy gauge welded wire and putting it over the chicken wire for the bottom floor. If I can catch Mr. Bear out one night, I'll give him something to remember me by, but they usually don't come when I'm around. Let me know what you all think!

Y'all recommend me a good "commando" style dagger.
Anyway, though I don't know what I'd ever really use one for, I've always liked the Fairbairn-Sykes style daggers. I've had crappy copies, but never the real thing. I figured I'd look around and see what's out there & in addition to Google, I figured I'd ask the most knowledgeable people I know.....y'all. So, recommend something to me....doesn't have to be an exact F-S knife, just something kinda that style.

Your favorite hot weather / summer crops?
I have had good luck with:
- Jalapeno peppers
- Okra
- Zucchini
Okra thrives in hot weather. It seems the hotter the weather, the more the okra produces.
The only problem I have ran into with Jalapeno peppers is keeping enough water on them through the summer months.

Make hydrogen
Yes...I know, hydrogen very easily goes boom! Let's get that out of our system so that we can have a serious discussion. What do you do when you can create a surplus of electricity - either with solar panels, wind, water etc? Buy another set of batteries? Batteries are not forever..they are expensive and need attention even when not in use. What if most of your electrical generating capacity were converted to hydrogen and stored? Later to be used in an ICE to generate electricity? the apparatus to break hydrogen doe can be home made and rather easily home maintained. When the SHTF, how many of you will be able to repair your.battery banks? or buy more, if you need them?

Reloading for Gas Operation, Cast, Jacketed or Powder Coat
I like the idea of being totally self sufficient with firearms and think reloading is the way to go including casting bullets. However, there are certain things a person just can not do all by themselves because of lack of money or equipment. For example brass, we can't make brass at home, you need a machine shop or factory to be able to produce it. I think jacketing bullets almost falls into this same category.
I understand you can take .22 brass and swedge the case for .223/5.56 but is there an easier way to make a jacket for a bullet? What about larger bullets like .308? Is there a source of materials for jacketing them? How about electroplating? Can you get enough copper coating through electroplating to not have the lead of cast bullets foul the barrel?
Finally, what of Powder Coating? Can you get a thick enough "shell" around a cast bullet so that it too can be shot out of a gas operated weapon? Thanks all.

Preliminary research on Atlanta suburbs
- Looking at Gwinnett, Forsyth, and Fayette counties, I see reasonably priced homes, good school districts, and areas that seem to be low in crime? Is this all correct?
- These counties, and I assume the entirety of the state of Georgia minus the city of Atlanta, appear to be conservative. I'm looking for conservative environments for raising a family - specifically, I am an evangelical Christian and I want to be a part of a solid church community and want to raise my kids in the church. I also strongly support the Second Amendment.
- The vegetation I read about in Georgia seems somewhat reminiscent of what I've grown accustomed to here in the New York City metropolitan area; when I drive north or west in New Jersey and northern NY state, I see rolling hills with vast expanses of trees dotting one hill after another. Is Georgia anything similar to this?

An unexpected Technical Leading Indicator
Mostly I have followed volume and price trends through alerts as well as 52 week highs and lows which hasn't been very helpful but I haven't been able to set alerts for RSI or money flow or the MACD which I believe would help with an overall picture. I do use moving averages and bollinger bandwidths but my main problem is coding an if and then conditions that if certain condition are met then an action occurs an alert or whatever.
So I've been burdened with looking at a single indicator for the most part. I use TD Ameritrade and Think or Swim but their charts are different so if I get an alert that seems promising on the broker platform using ToS to confirm using differing charts and overlays makes the process complicated. A case of analysis paralysis which is why I need a routine that eliminates choices which I haven't been able to find.
Purely by accident I might have found one technical indicator that indicates a price swing before it happens but I've only found it looking back and I have no idea how to scan for it.
That indicator is the MACD. What I have noticed is the divergence is usually the difference between the MACD and the EMA. If the MACD is 10 and the EMA is 11 the divergence is usually near 1 but if you can catch it there is usually a one day anomaly where the divergence might be 15 but generally from what I can tell the next day it is back to normal. Again based on limited data the price movement is not immediate it can take a week to two or three weeks to move. I generally use three month time frames.
So if anyone can help me nail this technical indicator down because the thing sometimes only shows up for a day or two.
I will give some examples. MSRT is a marijuana sector company that on 11/14 and 15/17 the Div was out of wack by 10 points and you could have bought the stock for 15cents. On 12/7 you could have sold for 38 cents but the stock didn't really move until 11/21. On 12/14 the MACD pattern emerged and you could have bought the stock for 30 cents. The price didn't start moving until 12/26 but it topped out on 1/3 at $1.17. The volume in this last case wouldn't have helped.
$1500 would have returned $3800 in 3 weeks and $2400 invested a week later would have returned in 3 weeks $9200. That $9200 plus the $2400 left from the original buy returns $11600 in 2 months from a $1500 investment. That's a return of 800% in two months or 400% a month or 20% a day!
I give you more examples but you'll need to look at those numbers to verify my observations. MDRPF 12/8 and the price remained steady for a month but if you had bought in that month on 1/30 you could have sold for double. GLLNF on 10/ 11-13 and until 10/18 you could have bought under 50cents and sold on 11/28 for $3.20. That's 600% in 6 weeks. CNNRF; LBUY one day on 11/10 and wait a month before it begins moving but you could have made 300% in 2 months. MDGL is another that you could have bought last fall for $16-$17 a share which is now at $274.26 and the anomaly showed before each price jump.
Hear is a little different in that it has reverse stock split of 1:4 but on 4/12 three days after the split and continuing for about 14 days to about 4/24 this divergent divergence occurred. On 4/25 the divergence returned to normal until 4/30 when the anomaly appeared and you could have bought for $5.00 a share. On 5/16 you could have sold for $20.00 a share. I really don't know if this holds true for reverse splits though.
I need to get a handle on this to see where it goes maybe there is a scan I can do for MACD volatility.
Any thoughts. Thanks
Katie

The evacuations have begun, and yet again people are evacuating without their pets and are having to go back into the zone to get them. The Army is on standby to help out the fire service. The Saddleworth Moor has peat areas so it could burn for a very long time. The smoke is also effecting areas, with the usual problems associated with that.
The temperatures are going to be in the high 20s, with the highest being 31 yesterday in Scotland and Ireland.

The only reason Democrats wants amnesty is for future votes. Boot out the border jumpers, then watch as the dem votes only consist of the usual American retards who currently vote Dem, and the dead voters they count so heavily on. matching inverter size to load question
I hope I word this right,so to keep it simple, assume they are exactly the same, but output either 500-750-and 1000 watts.
If I need to power 250w..will the larger ones "waste' more power from the battery than the smaller one?
I'm guessing a gas genny would waste more gas running a larger one than a smaller one for the same load..but would it matter since the invertor is electronic vs.mechanical?

Large garden area cover crop
After we amended the soil with optimal organics & adjusted the Ph, our garden generally produces more than we can put to use. A large amount of which we store in our root cellars & distribute to the family over the course of each winter.
The surplus from the orchard & garden is generally sold by the youngsters at local farmers markets.
Couple things have arose, I had a stroke, which curtailed my strength / endurance, running out of youngsters, gardener helpers, prep & canning hands. All related to the youngsters growing up and off to collage, other family members with adult day jobs they cannot get away from as often as needed, etc.
Decided next year to cut garden size in half or by 2/3rds because of my labor shortage
Rather than let the unused garden area lay fallow, looking for an optimal cover crop. Probably a member of the pea family.
Would appreciate any suggestions from the amazing gardeners here.

Bull barrel heavy barrel = useful for SHTF?
If I've understood it right, they are MASSIVELY heavier with their only benefit being ever so slightly better accuracy, and handles better if you shoot very many rounds in short succession (which you probably won't do unless you have full auto and/or massive amounts of ammo)

Could the November elections spell the end of Radical Liberalism?
After (8) long years and our nations flirtation with socialist ideas, the people rose up and threw them out. Now these rejected leftist radicals are doing what they always do, turn to violence in their frustration.
If American history is any guide, the mob only sows the seeds of its own destruction. Americans don’t like political violence. They're not impressed by cowardly men trying to physically intimidate women. They don't like to see protesters disturbing the peace of a person's home and private life and our streets.
The last time the Left turned to this level of seething blind rage and hatred, it lost elections on every level.
IF democrats can't capture the House and Senate this November, it will be seen as not only an historic victory for President Trump but a complete rejection of radical, violent liberalism.
Will the party double-down on stupid in it's refusal to except reality of the hearts and minds of middle America and punish Americans with blocked streets and burning cities and more violence? IMO, this will spell the end of Radical Liberalism.
OR
Could the democrats do some serious soul-searching, repent and move to the center?
Democrats have the very unpleasant burden of consistently being on the wrong side of history. They were the nations slave owners, the organizers of the Klu Klux Klan, the writers of the Jim Crow laws, the social designers of the American ghetto class and recently the instigators of senseless violence.
your thoughts.....
Could the November elections spell the end of Radical Liberalism?
