What sized generator to run a well pump?

This probably has been asked a million times...but here goes.

I have a 300 ft deep well, 6" casing, 5GPM. 240 volt pump. Of course, I have no idea what the specs are on the pump. Hopefully its something standard.

I'm looking at a 7kW running power (9kw starting) generator and wondering if I can reasonably expect this generator to be able to run the well pump.

The box says that you can run a well off this generator but of course, who knows that info is worth.
