Saddleworth Moor Fire -UK

A heat wave has caused a moorland fire near Greater Manchester. As yet it's not be reported about evacuations, but I am sure there maybe.

The evacuations have begun, and yet again people are evacuating without their pets and are having to go back into the zone to get them. The Army is on standby to help out the fire service. The Saddleworth Moor has peat areas so it could burn for a very long time. The smoke is also effecting areas, with the usual problems associated with that.

The temperatures are going to be in the high 20s, with the highest being 31 yesterday in Scotland and Ireland.

100 soldiers from Scotland have been sent to help out, including the use of a Chinook Helicopter. The fire is currently 4 miles wide on a peat like moorland a short distance from Greater Manchester. The fire can be seen from the space station.
