Used motor oil uses... What do you do with yours?

Did an oil change today.

Took the used oil and a rag, and gave about 20 steel and wood yard tools (axes, shovels, pitch forks, etc.) a good wipe down. They look really good now, and some were looking very sad before. Many of the dried up old wood handles soaked up that oil and were nearly dry after drying for a few hours in the sun. Restored a lot of life to them, cleaned up the metal forks, ax, and shovel heads really well.

I've got a pile of old antique ax heads I got at various garage sales, sitting in a drawer. I'm gonna give them a good wipe down soon.

Also, wiped down the entire underside front of my vehicle, such as the skid plate and some other areas. Really restored a lot of shine and cleaned up everything really well.

Don't recycle all your motor oil. Keep a few gallons on hand. It's very handy for many cleaning and oiling tasks. I keep a some old motor oil around for these types of tasks. It's basically free and good lubricant.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
