I've seen these list before and it seems they are either recycling what they find online or using old wives tales.

I seriously doubt a lab was consulted.

PB and most forms of ground corn do go bad.

Cornstarch stays fine if kept dry though.

Eddie, it's the pure PB that goes bad the fastest. One year on the pure stuff is the throw away date. Peanut "spread" that uses only palm oil is where you get something that should last you the longest, like 5-6 years. I think Skippy makes it.
