I have a well not in use. I'd like to use a solar pump.

Previous owners had to terminate water line and electric to well when public water was put in.

Well has a 240v pump.

Well is 200ft deep and pump is at 170ft.

Well has a bushing around pipe so I can't simply drop an additional pump/line, it (water line +pump) will all have to be pulled out.

I'd personally like to pull it all and install a solar setup with pump. Anyone have a solar setup this deep? Please share what you have if you do.

If not solar I've looked at hand pumps. They are out there and I'd use one if need be no matter what, but are they worth it?

Help me out here. This has been on my list of "things to do" for 3 years now and I need to commit to seeing it through but am still at a loss/not confident in what's out there/what I've found.

Solar setup or hand pump? I need help with deciding what make/model and which is best. Would be used for emergency water for garden, critters and personal consumption.

Help push me to finally get this project completed. The budget I feel comfortable with is $1500-$2K and that's with me doing the work.
