i dont use smart phones because A, a touchscreen is not very durable and i like super rugged type of phones.. and B, their batteries last you what? a day? two if youre lucky.. granted they have some interesting apps like GPS, and compasses and all that.. but its just not a very reliable tool, and also, google

i wasnt aware of facebook and google doing this, but its just one more reason for me to avoid the technology

if you have to have a smart phone though, and you know how to unlock and root your phone to install custom ROMs, consider lineageOS.. its pretty much android but completely stripped down, all the anti privacy google crap is removed, better alternative core apps are used instead and if you pair that with aptoide, a better, more open alternative to the google play store (remember, google banned the gab.ai app).. then you have yourself a smart phone with most, if not all of googles bullcrap stripped out of it
