Wood Stove Question

DefaultWood Stove Question

I bought an old wood stove that has a cast iron top, base, and door. The main body of the firebox is sheet metal and it has a second layer of sheet metal inside that looks like it was a liner for the firebox. The "liner" isn't in good condition and I've considered replacing that with fire brick. Anyone have experience trying this? I don't want to overheat the sheet metal body.
