Are you looking for plants or fruit?
Wild elderberry bushes are pretty common... You should be able to spot them alongside the roadsides... Very soon.... Look for the white flower clusters.... Most people who have these things coming up in their fields would probably be happy to let you dig all you wanted.
They like wet soil.... I used to have tons at my previous garden... Not so many now....
Seems like something that could be easily found in native plants niche nurseries.... Those are everywhere...
Or maybe you could visit a master gardener plant sale... Try giving your local extension service a call.
