Pink eye remedies or relief

I have never thought of this, though I have two boys, but I got pink eye, what are good remedies for this. There are two different types, bacterial and viral (didn't even know that). I see a bunch stuff on line about pinkeye, but I don't know if anyone actually used it and you ladies are awesome
