Barbed wire vs vehicle

I don't know about military vehicles but regular civilan 4x4,s don't cope with wire very well at all. You might get lucky and get over it but if a piece gets wrapped around a wheel or drive shaft it will most likely bring you to a stop and often do a lot of damage, breaking break lines cables etc. I got tangled up so bad once I had to take to take out a generator and 4inch angle grinder, wound that tight couldn't get a wire cutter into it.

If I wanted to stop a vehicle and I wasn't worried about animals getting tacaught up in it I would just make tangles of barbwire about 2ft high and a few feet deep and let the grass grow up through it. Know civilian motor vehicle would get through that and I wouldn't be surprised if it stoped a abrams tank. Would work much better than a straight out fence but deadly on livestock.

If you ever feel the need to drive through a fence, line up a picket or lite post and hit it and that will push the fence down infront of you and lessen your chances of getting tangled up.
