Gulf Coast 'Tropical Deluge'

So we're leaving tomorrow night and headed down to the beach in Alabama. Except apparently it's about to all be put under water with a 20% chance of it turning into an official tropical storm. But, it's a group trip and it's been planned and paid for for months now, so there's no turning back. If nothing else we'll just 'party' in the condo all week.

I've got my urban bag packed (BOB sized, but more GHB style with not including all the long term hunting, foraging, and shelter building stuff in my wilderness bag), plenty of car stuff including a tow rope, parachute flare, radios, and even an inflatable boat.

Hopefully things work out but I am a little concerned with roads being impassable and getting cut off or isolated, getting caught up in evacuations of flood zones, etc. Anyone with a more first hand impression of what's going on down there, or some ideas on preps? So far it looks like we may be relatively okay, but just a bit over in Florida they're expecting 2 feet of rain in some places.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
