I'd like to understand the differences between these two calibers.
I understand that the .300 Norma Magnum is a necked down .338 Lapua Magnum (to 7.62).
It looks very similar to the .30-338 Lapua & the .300 Lapua Magnum (on paper).
My question is, how is the .300 Norma Magnum able to shoot a faster .30 (7.62) caliber bullet (compared to the RUM) with a shorter case capacity?
