The importance of weekends.

contracting long term in the 3rd world one thing that hit home was the importance of rest days.

Without a day off, most of the population is just sick exhausted drudges( including contractors)
1 day off per week raises them up to being physically more able.
Two days off and everyones brains start working. They now have time to improve their lot, develope interests, make long term plans, travel a little, fight for rights.

1 religious day off + 1 secular day off, and busy the other 5 days is the secret to western prosperity in my opinion.

The two day weekend was one of the greatest human/god given breakthroughs, up there with the invention of medicine. You never realise it until you see chinese workers doing 6x12 hour days and their state of mind.

We are slowly ruining this formula btw,
