So do you have the boat now or are you stealing it when the SHTF?

I suggest you get in top physical condition and work really hard on actual bush craft skills and knowledge, since it will be hard to have a really well equipped BOL. Use google earth to find places in your current area of operation that have fresh water and forage opportunities. Get in good with the locals that know how to live there.
