I bought my 1970 mustang from an old farmer. He had it stored in his woodshop for about 25 years and never touched it. When I came to look at it, I was amazed.. not even the floor panels were rusted. They actually looked brand new.
Why? Because the car was filled with wood shavings that it had accumulated over the years. If you can keep the moisture away from the metal, the car will last pretty much indefinitely. When I sold the car, I had people beating down my doors once word got out that it was all original metal with no dents and not a spec of rust. And all from some hillbilly farmer with a wood shop...
