Today, I was finally getting around to planting my last two blackberry plants, that my many problems have been keeping me from planting. I was digging the hole, when suddenly I heard a clang from my little gardening pickax hitting something. I heard it a couple more times as I continued to dig, and it became unmistakable that I'd hit some kind of metal object, instead of just rock.
I wanted to use that spot, of course, so I decided to dig the thing up and get it out of the way. As I worked on that, I became clearer that I was unearthing some kind of aged tank with spots of its white paint peeled off.
I worked more and more carefully until it was total uncovered, and, sure enough, it's a propane tank.
I know it's not the most unheard-of thing in the world, yet-- what a surprise.
As soon as I get a chance, I'm going to trade it in, since we don't have much fuel, anyway.
The gods of survivalism must be smiling down on me.
Could it be, though, that someone buried it just to get rid of it?
PS- I don't know what everybody else thinks, but as of today my opinion is that it's too dangerous to bury propane tanks-- as shown by my bonking it again and again with a sharp pickax!
