best tires?

what type of tires are best for bad gravel/ dirt roads? ( for a 2 wheel drive SUV, not a 4wd truck)

I want tires that don't cost a fortune , will not be completely trashed after a year of driving up and down our dirt /gravel road ( last set I got) but I still want to be able to drive on a highway.They need to work in snow also. I am not even sure you are allowed to give me any specific brand info here ?! So if moderators decide I can't ask this on this site, I am not offended if you remove this post....if it's ok, I hope someone can help me out.
