can "slap" shallows, stun small fish

Defaultcan "slap" shallows, stun small fish

cut about 5 ft of 1" sapling, notch and tie enough sticks across 1 end "T" fashion, to be say, 8" square. If you can get into some shallow pools, say in late summer of a small creek, or somehow block a shallows off, "weir" fashion, this is a swift, easy way to harvest a meal. If the fish can't get or are currently hanging out in say, 6" or less of water, or at least that close to the surface, a sudden, hard "slap" of the flat of your T stick to the surface, right above the fish, will cause some of them to float to the top. Scoop them up with your hand or hands and toss them onto the bank. Most will recover from this, so you can put them (temporarily) in a small, really shallow pool, until you're read to harvest them. The guts of those you eat serve to "chum" any area of water where you want to catch more fish, (or turtles, coons, dogs, cats, etc).
