look at your local fish and game laws, and notice what's ILLEGAL. It's illegal cause it WORKS really well, folks. If shtf, those are THE ways to use for feeding yourself. I am NOT advocating illegal activity in "normal times'. I'm simply pointing out that there ARE ways to make your foraging a LOT more effective.

the thing to do, if shtf, is take livestock, folks. Nobody is advocating such a thing as 'crime', but when there's no longer any rule of law, those who don't do such things are highly likely to become casulties. Best to be aware of this fact.
