Need advice on concealed carry.

Okay, so I turn 21 in a month. I'm trying to figure out what is a reliable concealed carry handgun. I'm between the $500 to $700 range. I'm stuck between a 9mm, .357, .40 or .45. I was thinking about a compact size 1911 .45acp because I hear the 1911 is one of the most reliable guns, but I'm not familiar with what the best concealed carry caliber would be. Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.
