Just another normal Mormon guy

Hello everyone. I am grateful to be a part of your forum. I have been in Information Technology for 27+ years and am currently the IT Infrastructure Engineering Manager responsible the FamilySearch.org website infrastructure for the LDS Church (the Mormons), but I spent most of my career in the Corporate world.

I have six children, two are married and three grandchildren. Two of my boys are in college. One is studying to become an Attorney, and he is currently doing engineering design work for a solar company to put himself through school and the other works for Samsung as a Region Manager to put himself through school to become an Accountant. My oldest daughter is a stay-at-home mom and my last three children are still at home in the public school system.

My wife and I are avid outdoors enthusiast. Our family spends as much time as possible in the mountains, desert and coastal areas camping, hiking and exploring. All of my boys who hold a driver's license have their Eagle Scout Award.

My family is not into fanatical survival or domesday groups. However, we do believe in being prepared for life's trials like being unemployed or having heath issues or an earth quake or flood.
