Old school huge sat dish?

Both. The LARGE dishes are usually 45+db so they are great for directional antenneas. The problem is they are LARGE and are hard to get off the ground. It my be useful to trans/receive across a valley but there are better (smaller) more modern solutions for that.

Maybe a Solar Tracker for solar panels is in your future?
