Saudi Arabia passed Russia in military spending

Saudia Arabia's military spending has been on the rise for the past few years. One would have to assume ISIS is playing a big part in that as is Assad and their backing of rebels in Yemen and the general instability of the region.

They've got some legitimate reasons to spend so I don't see anything odd here honestly. If I were the leader of a country in that region I'd be spending my ass off on defense too.
