See-all Nite sight.

So I saw an ad for the aforementioned optic and thought it sounded like a neat idea. I purchased one and it arrived today.

I was instantly irritated when I saw that they had shipped one with crosshairs instead of the solid triangle reticle that was in the ad. Who wants crosshairs on a handgun? Short of a limited hunting role it seems retarded to me to offer a TRITIUM lit crosshair type optic.

I went back to their Web page and discovered that the reticle I thought I was ordering is apparently only offered in the fiber optic only models.

The optic seems to be relatively well made and durable.

The name See-all is a complete mis-nomer as you cannot see anything through the optic and have to overlay the image you see in the optic with your target. Kinda like shooting an eotech with the front dust cover closed.

What totally killed this optic for me though (other than incredibly slow target aquisition) was when I went into a totally dark room and sighted in the gun. In pitch black it worked great... right up until I hit my weapons mounted light. Then everything inside the optic went dark and I had an optic shaped black spot in my field of vision with no discernable aiming point.

For a defensive gun set-up I give this thing 2 stars... maybe and that is simply due to perceived build quality and ease of installation.

I will be calling them tomorrow and request to return the sight.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
