sewing machine rewire?I am working on replacing the foot pedal wire on a vintage, generic, Japanese made, class 15 machine. I haven't been able to find instructions of any kind. I paid close attention when taking the old wire out and plan to put the new one in exactly as I found the old.
my only trouble is finding a new wire. the closest thing the hardware store had was lamp wire. I think its a tiny bit larger around than the original. its copper and has markings on it. the old one doesn't have markings and is filled with aluminum. the other wires on the machine are copper
I have never done any wiring before. is the lamp wire safe to use?
