Fireplace vs. Woodstve for cabin

I am in the early stages of designing a retreat cabin and wondered what the consensus is on building in a fireplace vs a platform for a wood burning stove. I understand their are merits of each (leaning towards the stove myself) but was wondering if YOU have a choice of what to have installed in a cabin, which would you choose and why?

Fireplace Pros:
Aesthetically nicer than a stove
Produces some light
Can still cook
Warms rooms quickly
Fireplace Cons:
Uses a lot of wood, less efficient
can create a lot of smoke
when no in use the flue can let in the weather

Stove Pros:
Easy to cook on
Fuel efficient
gives off steady radiant heat
Stove Cons:
No one ever cuddled up to the wood stove with a glass of wine and a good book...
may require extra maintenance
no light produced
