So I just moved to Texas from New Mexico, I am wanting to buy a long rifle from a private party here in Texas but my license is still a new mexico license, the guy wants to take my ID# for the bill of sale which I am totally fine with but I dont want the sale impeded upon due to my New Mexico license buying a private long gun in Texas, is this legal? As in am I able to buy a long rifle in the state I live even if I just moved here 4 days ago with the state's next door license? thanks.
