Screw in fuse panels - are they considered up to code?

I'm not sure this post is in the right section. I figured you guys are likely to have some electrical experience here so picked this place to post. If there's a more appropriate place, maybe someone will move it there. (??)

I just looked at another house. I knew it was a little older, built in the 1960's, but I was surprised to find a screw in fuse panel where I expected a breaker panel. But unlike some other similar panels I've seen, this one actually looked like it might have been installed recently. I didn't open the panel to see the wiring behind it but from what I could see of the wires going in and out of it, it was clean and tidy, almost pristine. The face of it was near perfect. I wasn't expecting to see that.

Anyway, what I wondered is whether something like that is still up to code. Would that in itself be enough for a house to fail an electrical inspection, the kind that would be done in the process of getting a mortgage? Or are the old screw-in type fuse panels still acceptable so long as they are in good condition?

Had it been an old rats nest that looked like it went through a flood and was rusted out, there would be no question in my mind. But like I said, I was surprised at it's apparently good condition.

Any insights?

Thanks!
