This means the Conservatives, who at least have more members on parliamentary seats than any other party, must now make coalitions with other parties in order to control parliament. This is a disaster for Brexit, because the election mandate is being interpreted as the people wanting a 'soft' Brexit. The Brexit we will now obtain will be much more in name than content and I'm So upset! The truth is that London and the youth of this country voted the way they did for many reasons that had nothing to do with Brexit, but Brexit will suffer for it.
For example, the Tories have been advocating privatising parts of the National Health Service. They also have tax plans that are patently pro-business. Of course there is that vast horde of anti-Brexit folk too, but combined with the liberal youth who voted in droves and London inner city welfare recipients nervous about their handouts, it all combined in one flaming disaster for the Tory party.
TeresaMay calculated very very badly, and could well end up having the shortest term of office in several hundred years worth of prime ministers. Her Tory party may well decide now that they have no confidence in her decision making abilities - considering she just blew their comfortable parliamentary majority up in smoke - it certainly seems she hasn't what it takes to lead their party, much less the country. Since the party with the most members of parliament has the right to choose the prime minister from amongst their own ranks, I doubt they will allow her to hold that position for much longer. I understand her sentiment in wanting a stronger negotiating mandate with the European Union, but we didn't NEED this election and she has driven a coach and four through Brexit.
