I'm finishing up repairs in 5 rooms of my house caused by an ongoing roof problem that was hidden until it all fell apart, literally! Didn't think I could do it, but now that I am in the home stretch, I'm feeling cocky/empowered? I am selling a part interest in property I own with my siblings. They are not like minded. Thinking about reinvesting it into real estate, always wanted a bol.

There is a piece of property with about 15 usable flat-ish acres that I am looking at surrounded by foothills that are pretty steep. The price is well within the value of the selling property. Am I crazy to look at this much work at 60? It is run down, obvious repairs are needed. There are two water sources on the property, a well and a seasonal stream. What is keeping others from buying this gem? One is the summer heat in the valley, it gets to triple digits every year. Always has. Obvious maintenance needed to the solar battery bank, possible total replacement. Then there is the three piles of trash, bigger than my full size truck.

It is out in the sticks and would be a great bug out location 3.5 hours from my home. I could turn it into a cozy vacation spot.

How crazy am I to think about this at my age? I'm still pretty active and capable. It's a big step for a single woman. I could use some sage advice and questions to ask the realtor or owner.
