My newer caches all use "Z-CORR" or "Blu-Bags" They have an anti-corrosion lining. I highly recommend using that type bag. They are rated for "At Least" 20 years storage. You still want to protect the bag from punctures.

But to answer your question, these were simply well oiled and sealed in plastic bags with air squeezed out using shrink wrap, a lot of shrink wrap.

But from here forward I will use the Z-CORR or Blue Bags. And double tape them shut.

I have been doing this different ways for 60 plus years. And learn a bit new each time. I went through a period where I used 120 mm ammo cans, filled them with firearms, then filled the can to the very top with 30 weight motor oil. It worked fine but was hell to clean the firearms for use when unpacking them at 30 degrees below zero. Had to boil water. But that was long ago. Using that method.........several recoil pads decomposed.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
