Let's Assume For The Moment That It's A Pandemic...

And you are of celtic stock, the kind that survived the black plague, have a strong immunity to whatever bug that it was and you and your family survived.

You have managed to remain undetected in your home, and have had enough provisions to see you through in relative comfort...though the lack of news sucks.

So, after you have seen no evidence of foot or vehicle traffic for six weeks to two months and now you take the decision to venture out for a sneaky peaky.

You get out and you find...nothing. Literally nothing. No one else is out and about. You see remnants of pyres where massive body burnings were carried out and only a few unattended dead bodies laying around here and there.

The pandemic swept through like a firestorm. Eventually, as you wantder your former small town you run across a single orphaned kid...but it looks completely deserted otherwise except for some dogs, and other critters roaming about.

95% of the people are dead it seems. You find the last issue of the newspaper that was published a couple of weeks before and it bears this out. There has been a worldwide die off of 95% from the Flying Cabbage Chicken Flu.

Most of the population are dead, the majority of the rest of them took off to find Panacea, and it's just you and your loved ones.

Do you feel bad about the chlorine flush to the gene pool? Are you thankful to be alive with your family? Do you get all depressed and funky or do you just decide...fuuuuuggit...and do what you gotta do to keep on 'a keepin on?

I had this conversation with my best friend as we were up north last Friday. We came to the consensus that a good chlorine flush to the gene pool would be relaxing if truly 95% of the bipedal oxygen burners on the planet were gone.

In AZ, there would be 350,800 people left.

In my county there would be 20,309 people left.

In my county, there would be just over 3.75 people per square mile.

In AZ...there would be 3 people per square mile overall.

That doesn't seem so bad does it? Or am I just tired of people and having happy thoughts?

No, I read your last post. At first I merely rolled my eyes and shook my head, but then nearly had to quit reading because I was worried that your brand of stupid was contagious because everyone who agreed with you seemed to drop IQ points with every word.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
