Has anyone purchased one of these for short term power needs?

Comments section states that the product has a "modified sine wave inverter" rather than a pure sine wave inverter. Lowes personnel have no idea what this means for specific applications.

Anyone have experience or knowledge about what the item can and cannot power safely?
