Another border wall?

I've been reading about the United Kingdom, the European Union and Brexit. Confusing! Trump doesn't seem to like the EU. Is it good or bad? And since Britain will be out of it in March, 2019, will it affect us? Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and so will also be out of the EU, but The Republic of Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom (Great Britain) and will not leave the European Union. The move is called "Brexit".

The border between Republican Ireland and British Ireland has a soft border similar to parts of the U.S. Mexico border, but people on both sides don't think that will work. In the 1970's several Catholics were killed along that border by the British military. Maybe the Irish Republicans will take an idea from President Trump and build a wall. This issue is currently one of Theresa May's biggest problems.

I first learned of this issue, today, on Beau of the Fifth Column and have been researching. Would appreciate more info on this.
