Most important tools for bugout? Or none...

If it turns out you have no second home to make it to in bugout situation and will be spending lots of time in general wilderness and traveling, possibly trying to set up lengthy stay somewhere in woods, is there any set of tools anyone thinks is important enough to weigh yourself down with? I have multitool with some star/hex tips for the screwdriver, knife, saw, and hatchet (hatchet will be first thing to go if we have to strip down to essentials and run).

Is there any tool or set of tools people think it would be important to have, that you'd weigh yourself down with at least at first, even if it's something you'd strip off later if speed become of the essence? I'm talking about actual metal tools, like hand drill, awl, etc., not materials or machines like funnels, siphons, water filters, etc. or fire starters, stoves, etc.

I had a hard time coming up with anything that would be worth its weight, but just thought I'd get a general read from people better at all this than I am. I did try searching "tools" and "best tools" and "critical tools" before posting.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
